I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) in the state of Colorado with Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and a Master of Counseling from Regis University. I am a trained EMDR provider, REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST™ and am a Certified Animal-Assisted Intervention Specialist (C-AAIS). I have held my LPC since January 2023.
Supervision
My primary focuses in my therapeutic work are play therapy and trauma. I take a trauma informed and culturally sensitive lens to support clients of all different ages and backgrounds. I work with children as young as 3 years old, adolescents, and adults. I have worked at a therapy farm where I provided therapy for clients with the help of 30 different animals that were onsite. I have been an active volunteer with the Serious Fun Network for over 8 years, supporting children with chronic illnesses through camp programing. I started my private practice in 2022 and have strived to continue my education by continuing to be trained in EMDR and Play Therapy Modalities as well as touching in on some Somatic and Polyvagal approaches. You will almost always find me engaged in a training, book, or podcast, as I am a life long learner in this field.
I use experiential therapy approaches, Gestalt, human and child centered, career counseling, and existential approaches to support each of my clients and their individual needs. I focus a lot on the nervous system and using those cues to determine readiness for each client into deeper and more directive approaches especially when dealing with trauma. I work with clients from all different backgrounds including PTSD, ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Developmental Delays, all types of abuse and neglect, as well as Attachment Disorders.
My goal is to help guide future professionals to be competent in their scope in the field as well as help destigmatize taking insurance so that all types of clients can be supported no matter what type of insurance they hold. I hope to have a dynamic relationship where feedback can be given on both sides and we can work together to help you navigate this new career you are stepping into. I believe getting experience working with clients is the best way to learn and hope that the experience you need to set your roots in this career can be achieved at Jade and Jinx.
I will use recording and live observation in order to observe your progress and support your work with clients. You will also be able to shadow me and my clients who are willing to consent to being shadowed in session.
