About Elizabeth
I love to incorporate creativity into more traditional approaches to therapy, to help clients feel excited about therapy. I take a holistic Gestalt, Culturally-Sensitive, Trauma-Informed, and Person Centered approach to healing to work with each persons uniqueness in their healing.
Two of my primary focuses in my practice are trauma and play therapy. My passion is to find healing in creative and nuanced ways and help those who may be feeling stuck. I work primarily with children and adults.
I am EMDR trained, a REGISTERED PLAY THERAPISTâ„¢, and Animal Assisted Trained. I believe that healing can happen in many different ways. I work with body movement, mindfulness, nature, energy, art therapy, and play therapy, to teach clients that there is no one way to heal.
I focus on Polyvagal Theory and the nervous system in order to determine when clients are ready for deeper trauma work as well as to make sure that safety is provided throughout the therapeutic process. I try to empower clients to understand their own nervous system so that they can have the autonomy to self regulate and better understand their own regulation.
I now work with a kitty co-therapist, Morpheus (Morph) who joins session based on each clients treatment goals. Morph helps to support clients with EMDR work, loves joining play therapy sessions, and provides a cue of safety for many clients.
